It has been an eye opening experience so far working on my book to get it ready for publication. My book is sceince fiction and part of it takes place in the future. I had decided to use footnotes to explain words that the future people would no longer understand ( for example, “blue jeans,) Well, the editor said they could not have footnotes in a fictional book, that I had to take out all 400 plus footnotes and incorperate the ideas in the main text.

As one can imagine, this was quite a long and challenging project. But I did it over several months and sent it in! I am expecting a second edit to come back to me some time in December.

Meanwhile, I have gotten to see the first draft of the cover design which really makes the whole thing become real! Once they send me the final draft I will be able to publish it here in my blog part of my site so hold on to your hats and keep checking. This is sooo exciting!!!!
