This is all new to me. I mean I have had a number of short stories published but never before a book. There are all kinds of things I had never thought of that I have to acquaint the publisher with. For example, in order to design the cover, that have to know how each of my characters look in great detail. This includes how each of them dress. Because my book involves time travel, that also means what period clothes do they wear! What is their hairstyle and color, some of these are things I had never even decided about.

Then, they want to know about all the settings for the same reason. What do things look like in every time period that my characters are visiting?

Plus I get to write a dedication! What a thrill. The next step will be the first of the two editorial passes they will make through the book. This is exciting but also a bit nerve wracking. What if they want me to change something that I don’t want to alter?
